How long is this going to last? At what point are things going to change? Will there ever be a turn around? If you’re like most of us, I’m sure you’ve had these questions or similar questions pop up in your mind at one time or another. It’s never fun going through a crisis - particularly if you aren’t sure what to do or how it will end. These are uncertain times. We’ve never been here before. We’re in uncharted waters. However, one thing is for certain and that is that the Word of God never changes. It is eternal. Therefore, as difficult as it may sound we must keep our eyes on the Word of God.
The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 4:18, “While we look not at the things which are seen but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal [or subject to change]; but the things which are not seen are eternal [or never change].”
How do I do that, you ask? I have to keep my eyes on the promises of God rather than all of the problems going on around me. Now, is this easy to do? No, it’s not easy or everybody would be doing it. But God’s Word has sufficient power to bring itself to pass when it is believed and acted on. So in other words, God’s Word enables you to walk in the light of what it says when you choose to believe it more than the circumstances or crisis.
God has not brought us this far to let us down. God has plans for you and none of them include defeat. God will bring us through this crisis victoriously. I don’t have to know how He’s going to do it - I just have to believe that He will!
It says in 1 Corinthians 10:13, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer [or permit] you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
The Greek word for temptation in the above scripture also means tests and trials. So here is what it’s saying: in every test or trial God is faithful to always make a way of escape. In other words, in every test or trial God is faithful to make a way of escape so that you may come through it victoriously. Again let me emphasize: you don’t have to know how God is going to do it, you just have to believe he will.
Believing what the Word of God says more than the circumstances will help you keep the right perspective. Keeping the right perspective is what is going to bring us all through victoriously! I declare God’s favor and provision over you, your family and your church. God Bless.
